CARD SWAP

I have a new card to share today.  I held off on posting it until I was sure it made it's way to my card swap partner!!  This cute Tilda is holding a key that I used glossy accents on.  It is hard to see it in the picture, but it looks really glossy!

The word "Believe" is embossed with Martha Stewart Lime Green embossing powder.  I have only starting embossing.  How do you keep the powder from sticking to the rest of the card???  I did emboss it before I but the paper on the card, but there were a few flakes of powder that would not come off...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  I just love this paper.  Thanks for stopping by!!  Love your comments.  T-

  1. What a sweet card. Re the embossing powder sticking to the card - look for something like the Embossing Magic pouch by Inkadinkadoo. You rub it over the paper before embossing and it keeps the powder from sticking to the rest of the card. Great job.

  2. Adorable card. Nancy has the solution. It's like a little bag full of cornstarch or something. Swipe it over your paper before you stamp and emboss and the powder doesn't stick on the un-embossed area. Works great.

  5. Love this Teresa and am so lucky to be the proud owner of it! It is even more beautiful in person. As the other girls mentioned an embossing buddy swiped over the paper first works very well to help the flakes not stick where you don't want them. Also, before I heat set the powder, I use a tiny paint brush to brush off any stray embossing powder. But after giving you those tips, I dont see any stray flakes on the card, it is just perfect! Thanks a million for sending it, I love it!

  8. Such a cheery happy card and you embossing loos just perfect.
Someone else mentioned a embossing buddy. You can also use a sock filled with cornstarch or a very, very used dryer sheet will work in a pinch too. Just make sure it isn't a new one, because that will leave streaks. Have fun and great card!
